Jaguar Women Open RRAC Play

San Antonio, TX-The Jaguar women's soccer team played two conference matches over the weekend to open conference play. The first match saw the Jaguar's take a 1-0 loss to the Eagles of A&M-Texarkana, while the Jaguars were able to get a point on the table with a draw against the Pilots of LSU-Shreveport in the second match.

In the match against A&M-Texarkana, the Jaguars arguably played well enough to walk away with a draw, if not a win, but saw roughly a thirty second break-down in play lead to A&M-Texarkana's lone goal. Coach Fredy Sanguinetti said, "Playing Texarkana is always a big challenge. I believe we played them well, but a lapse in concentration took a result away from us. In this conference, every game demands our utmost concentration, and that lesson was hammered home against Texarkana."

On Saturday, the Jaguars hosted LSU-Shreveport with a better result but were still left with plenty to improve upon. "Shreveport is always tough to play. They like to move the ball and are a very physical team. We had a few opportunities, but for whatever reason we could not capitalize on them. We aren't going to get very many chances against these teams, so we have got to learn to finish."

The Jaguars next two conference matches will be on the road against Jarvis Christian College and Texas college, respectively.
