Pena Named as RRAC Golfer of the Week

Waco, TX–  Jacob Pena garnered the RRAC Men's Golfer of the Week award for the dates of March 24-30.

Pena won the first individual tournament title in the four-year history of the Jaguars' program on March 24-25 at the Linda Lowery Invitational. The senior from Victoria, TX, shot rounds of 69-68 on the par-72 course at Teravista Golf Club in Round Rock, TX. Pena finished a shot ahead of the runner-up and conquered the field of 58 golfers. His national ranking rose 44 spots from No. 109 to No. 65 as a result. The Jaguars' finished third in the team standings.

The Jaguar golf team continues play starting on April 7 competing at the Battle at Riverhill in Kerrville, TX, and then they head to Forth Worth, TX for the Texas Wesleyan Spring Invitational starting on April 14. Following, the latter, the Jaguars' will compete in the Red River Athletic Conference Championship Tournament at the Golf Club of Texas in San Antonio starting on May 5.
