
The Jaguars Complete the Fall Schedule with a Third Place Finish at the Wayland Baptist Invitational
PLAINVIEW, Texas – The A&M-San Antonio Men's Golf team finishes the Wayland Baptist Invitational in third place behind No. 8 Wayland Baptist University and Oklahoma Wesleyan University. WBU shot +2 and +13 through 54 holes while the Jaguars were +21 through the three round tournament.
Sophomore Jacob Pena (Victoria, Texas) and Freshmen Oskar Blomdahl (Gothenburg, Sweden) both recorded top 10 individual finishes in the two day event. Blomdahl tied for sixth place individually by shooting 73-72-68 to lead the Jaguars with a combined score of 213. Pena finished just one stroke behind and ended up in eighth place individually with a score of 67-78-69.
Senior Jordan Hardin (DeLeon, Texas/Cameron University) and sophomore David Rodriguez (Edinburg, Texas) finished top 20 individually and were separated by just one stroke. Hardin shot a 73 all three rounds to finish the tournament with a score of 219 while Rodriguez shot 220 through 54 holes.
Junior Javy Jazo (Freeport, Illinois/Aquin Catholic High School) rounded out the top 20 with a three round score of 226. Senior Ethan Perez (San Antonio, Texas) tallied a 230 through 54 holes as an individual.
The Jaguars will be back on the course in the spring.
