San Antonio, TX- Enthusiasm is building amongst our Jaguars and coaches as the upcoming season inches closer. The Jaguars will hit the road to tip off for the first time in the 2025-2026 season as they face off with the Loyola New Orleans Wolf Pack in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 23rd at 7:00pm.

Blake Petty, a freshman on the team, shard that he is most looking forward to "the road trips, traveling with the team, and winning games." His excitement reflects the positive energy that has already been flowing throughout the team during preseason practices and team bonding.

The men's basketball team includes a lot of new talent this year along with several experienced returners. This combination of ambitious and accomplished players will pave the way for many opportunities as a team this season. Returning senior, Paul Minjoth, predicts that there will be noticeable growth from last season. He states that the team will have, "more resilience, more discipline, and more joy this year."

The team, along with their coaches and staff, are heading into this season with a positive disposition. Head coach Chris Dial, when asked about his goals for this season, responded with "We want to make the conference tournament, and continue to build the culture of our program."

Following a historic inaugural season last year, the Jaguars are looking to turn the page and build on their foundation. With a fresh season just around the corner, the team is focused, motivated, and ready to make its mark on the growing legacy of men's basketball at Texas A&M–San Antonio.
