Bio
Chris Dial joined A&M-San Antonio in 2024 as the University launched its inaugural basketball program. The native San Antonion brought with him a diverse coaching résumé, including six seasons at Our Lady of the Lake University, where he led the program to three postseason appearances and earned signature wins over nationally ranked National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and NCAA Division II teams, as well as the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I Sun Belt Conference champions, Texas State University—his alma mater. Dial is also the founder of The Basketball Embassy (TBE), a nonprofit established in 2014, through which he has coached and trained players and coaches in over 25 countries, leveraging his International Basketball Federation licensure and impacting athletes from more than 120 nations. In 2024, Dial served as an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs during the NBA Summer League, building on a long-standing relationship with the Spurs and their nonprofit arm, Spurs Way. Before his international and collegiate career, he coached high school basketball in the San Antonio area. Dial graduated from East Central High School and holds a B.A. in psychology and political science from Texas Lutheran University and an M.A. in international studies from Texas State University.
