Jaguar Student-Athletes Finish Strong Academically
San Antonio, TX- Jaguar student-athletes finished the academic year with a strong performance in the classroom. For the 2024-2025 academic year, the department finished with a solid 3.10GPA. This marks the highest department GPA for an academic year in the relatively short history of athletics at Texas A&M-San Antonio.
Men's golf had the highest team GPA finishing with a 3.44, while softball had the highest women's team GPA with a 3.18. In total, five of the six athletic teams finished with GPA's above 3.00.
Darnell Smith, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, commented, "When we started things off, we made it a goal to be above 3.00 for an academic year. It was not all that great the first couple of years, but we have finished strong the last couple. Being at 3.10 for the year shows that out student-athletes are committed to being their very best not just on the field or court, but in the classroom too. I am pleased we are making positive gains academically, and we will continue to strive to be even better."
