LSU-Alexandria concludes three-game sweep of Jaguars
ALEXANDRIA, La. – The LSU–Alexandria Generals concluded a three-game sweep Tuesday of the Jaguars of Texas A&M–San Antonio, winning 4-0.
Five different Jaguar players picked up base hits in the game, but the visitors were unable to push a runner across the plate.
Ebbie Rodriguez (Helotes, Texas / Angelina College) pitched six innings for the Jaguars (9-21, 3-12 RRAC), striking out two batters. Eryn Sanchez started and pitched four innings for the Generals to claim the victory.
The Jaguars did have their chances, as they left multiple runners on base in the fourth and fifth innings. Caty Rangel (Austin, Texas / Ranger College) singled with one out in the fourth, and then beat the throw to second base when Vanessa Garces bunted, giving the Jaguars runners at first and second. Kameryn Casares (Edinburg, Texas / Vela) moved the runners to second and third base, but they were left stranded there.
Gabby Mitchell (San Antonio, Texas / Texas A&M International) knocked a base hit in the fifth inning in between two LSUA errors, but the Jags left the bases loaded.
Messiah San Miguel (Pleasanton, Texas / Laredo College), Melissa Gonzalez (San Antonio, Texas / Texas Southern) and Madison Sniggs (Temple, Texas / Western Texas College) also knocked base hits for the Jaguars.
With the win, the Generals (21-12) improved to 14-3 in Red River Athletic Conference play.
